|Personal History||The New York Addamses are the sort of family the neighbors whisper about. They've been well-to-do as far back as the records of Sleepy Hollow go, but there's something not quite respectable about them, none the less. Perhaps it's the ramshackle Second Empire house in which they live, or the fact that it borders a cemetery in which generations of their ancestors are buried. Perhaps it's the rumor that the father of the family, Pubert, married his own cousin, Glorianna... several times removed, admittedly, but still.... Perhaps it's the names the family gives its children: Chlamydia, Purulence, and Ischemia being but the latest generation. Whatever it is, the neighbors tend to keep their distance, though, if pressed, they have to admit that the family has never been anything but polite, even generous, to them personally.
As the oldest of the Addams daughters, Chlamydia felt a deep curiosity about the functioning of the strange little monsters that mother brought home, calling them her sisters. From an early age, she studied anatomy, and rumor has it that she excavated in the graveyard with the help of the family's very odd retainer, a nearly silent giant of a man, who was reputed to be Hupyrian.
This curiosity led naturally to a study of medicine, and Chlamydia attended Columbia University, where she majored in literature, and then Harvard University Medical School, where she graduated as an M. D. After internship and residency, Dr. Addams found she was bored with caring for the ill of a single planet, and decided to join Starfleet.
|Service Record||She attended the abbreviated academy classes for staff officers, and was appointed to USS Santa Maria, where she served for a year before being promoted, and sent to USS Hood. At the end of her time aboard Hood, the ship encountered an energy-eating space spider whose presence caused severe psychic distress to many of Hood's crew; Addams, who considered the spider "beautiful, but lonely," was one of the few who remained functional during the encounter.
Her second transfer took her to USS Archimedes, where she was involved with cleaning up after the holographic personality insurrection at Starbase 50. Following the insurrection, Archimedes disappeared from Federation space; Addams was found drifting in a life pod, and claimed to have no memory of the last three months.
Starfleet has decided to place her at a starbase where her activities can be more closely monitored. While officially, no suspicion of wrongdoing is attached to her, quietly, everyone wonders why she was the only member of Archimedes crew to return to the Federation.
